Michella Bredahl – Rooms We Made Safe
Frederiksborg presents the rising Danish artist Michella Bredahl.
Bredahl is known for her intimate portraits of friends and acquaintances, depicting them in their homes during private moments. But a home is not necessarily a safe place. Based on a deeply personal narrative, the exhibition reaches back to photographs taken by Bredahl’s mother, Maria Bredahl, before the artist’s birth, as well as to the images they later created together throughout her childhood. The exhibition features both photographic and film works.
Over the past few years, Bredahl has gained international recognition for her intimate approach to portrait photography. Rooms We Made Safe is Bredahl’s first major solo exhibition. It has previously been shown at Huis Marseille, Museum for Photography and Kunstmuseum Brandts.
Michella Bredahl graduated from the The National Film School of Denmark (2015–2019) and Fatamorgana – The Danish School of Art Photography (2010–2011).
