Andersen’s The Snow Queen is a fairy tale about how evil can take hold—but also a story of hope\, loyalty and the power of love to restore warmth and light. \nAt the heart of the Audience Chamber stands a monumental eye. Light\, reflections and wintry atmospheres envelop the space\, inviting you into the world of the story. Follow in Gerda’s footsteps through an icy experience as the Audience Chamber is transformed into the Snow Queen’s realm and H.C. Andersen’s timeless classic comes to life. \nAlongside the installation\, Valdemar Hall presents the original costumes from the production\, the story of The Snow Queen through texts and images\, portraits of H.C. Andersen from the museum’s collection\, and historical objects connected to Denmark’s beloved fairy-tale author. \nThe Fairy Tale \nThe Snow Queen is a story of longing and belonging\, of cold and warmth—and of the light that finds its way through darkness. \nWhen Kay is struck by a splinter from a troll’s enchanted mirror\, it pierces both his eye and his heart.
